Sunak suffers defeat in vote to delay Rwanda asylum treaty
THE unelected upper house of parliament inflicted a blow Monday (22) to the government’s controversial plan to send migrants to Rwanda, by voting to delay ratification of the treaty with Kigali.The move is a blow for prime minister Rishi Runak, who had urged the House of Lords to pass the plan, saying it was the will of the people.
