Bharani is the second nakshatra in Vedic astrology. It is represented by a trinity of faint stars, known as the Bearing Star or Star of Restraint. The main symbol of Bharani Nakshatra is the female reproductive organ Yoni. According to the Vedic view, birth, death, transformation, and regeneration are described with feminine fertility symbols. Etymologically, the name Bharani means "carrier". Thus, Bharani Nakshatra symbolizes the feminine aspects of nature and its tendencies to endure, receive, nurture, and destroy. Bharani Nakshatra is also considered a symbol of purification, tolerance, jealousy, and sacrifice.
